A testament of unshakable faith and absolute devotion to Lord Ram.
When the monkey army (Vanar Sena) was searching for Goddess Sita, they reached the southern shores of India. The vast, seemingly endless ocean stood between them and the island kingdom of Lanka, where the demon king Ravana had imprisoned her.
The army despaired, wondering who among them possessed the strength to cross such a massive body of water. Jambavan, the wise bear king, realized that Hanuman was the only one capable. However, Hanuman had forgotten his own immense powers due to a childhood curse.
Jambavan began to praise Hanuman, reminding him of his divine birth, his jump to the sun, and his unparalleled strength. As Hanuman heard these praises, he chanted the name of Lord Rama. With his faith awakened, he grew to a colossal size. With a mighty roar, he pushed off the Mahendra mountain and flew across the sky.
During his flight, he faced multiple tests—Mount Mainak offered him rest, the serpent mother Surasa tested his intelligence, and the demoness Simhika tried to swallow his shadow. Hanuman overcame them all with wisdom and strength, finally landing in Lanka to complete his mission.
माता सीता की खोज करते हुए जब वानर सेना दक्षिण भारत के समुद्र तट पर पहुंची, तो उनके सामने लंका जाने के लिए सौ योजन (लगभग 800 मील) का विशाल समुद्र था। सभी वानर हताश हो गए कि इतने बड़े समुद्र को कौन पार कर सकता है।
तब जामवंत जी ने ध्यान दिलाया कि केवल हनुमान जी ही यह कार्य कर सकते हैं। बचपन में मिले एक श्राप के कारण हनुमान जी अपनी शक्तियां भूल चुके थे। जामवंत जी ने उन्हें उनके बल, उनकी सूर्य तक की छलांग और उनके पवन-पुत्र होने का स्मरण कराया।
अपनी शक्तियों का बोध होते ही और "जय श्रीराम" का उद्घोष करते हुए, हनुमान जी ने अपना आकार विशाल कर लिया। उन्होंने महेंद्र पर्वत से एक भयानक छलांग लगाई, जिससे पर्वत भी पाताल में धंसने लगा।
समुद्र पार करते समय उनका सामना कई बाधाओं से हुआ—मैनाक पर्वत ने विश्राम का आग्रह किया, नागमाता सुरसा ने उनकी बुद्धिमत्ता की परीक्षा ली, और सिंहिका नाम की राक्षसी ने उनकी परछाई पकड़कर उन्हें रोकना चाहा। परंतु हनुमान जी ने अपनी अपार बुद्धि और शक्ति से सभी बाधाओं को पार किया और लंका पहुंचकर माता सीता की खोज की।
